,,,,,,,,,,,,,my girls !! & Lady JaneShe was just a tiny but cute 2 months old puppy when I got her from another friend from "The Moon" an interesting hideaway at Cherating !!,,,,the place reminds me of the captured CTs camps during my tough and bloody combat tour of duty back in the early 70ths...until mid 1982.
YES !! .....those were the deadly battle days when bullets were passing through my cockpit and death was a split second or just inchs away if your number is up or over due ??.
,,,,Guess, I was one of the lucky few that got away in one piece but unfortunately many of my buddies lost their life fighting against Chin Peng and his not so merry men/women !.
To the many "Army Dogs" that were involved, they played their silence role/part in tracking the enemy plus sniffing the thousands of deadly booby traps,,,,many of us were saved from those hidden dangers if not for these smart dogs !!.
I always have much attachment and respect to these service dogs...the unknown heros.....YES, may I salute to all of these "man best friends" for their 'tour of duty' for King and Country.
YES !!,,,,JANE you came into my life in April 2006 and has always kept guard and good company plus protected me against the many hazards,,,,,snakes that lay hidden from my eyes yet you could sense them before I could take the next step !... the huge hungry python at the kitchen a week ago ??,,,,,Finding our way back in the middle of the nite after looking for lost travelers in the jungle, Warning those not welcome to Capt's Longhouse to stay away, Chasing my shadow along the beach and playing catch me if you can !! HaHaHa....and you are always pretty fast yoo buddy !!.
,,,,,Geeee !!!,,,Jane indeed you are my best friend plus faithful buddy on the island, ever trusting and loyal at all times too.
,,,,,,,and to my other past DOGS,,,,Rocky, Blacky and many 'unname' others that we took home from the streets,,,,,may your souls be resting in 'doggy heaven' and thanks for sharing your life with me.
Its a dog life for some unfortunate others, until we met but I have indeed learnt a lot from you guys too,,,,,being faithful for ever yaa !!.
Guess, am a dog guy-lah !!.........in a 'dog eat dog world' ??.

Yes, she started having her period last year but am not breeding her just as companion & working dog for guarding/hunting but Jane has good hound behaviour for fast-moving games. She is a mixed breed and its a guessing game to figure out what physical and personality characteristics come from what breed ??.

ReplyDelete,,,Haha !!..banyak orang kita bias against dogs unfortunately but they don't know what they are missing, the interection btw animals and man goes back to primitive times yaa !!. i have had many different animals as friends (not pets) even birds and lately fishes in the wild open sea ...much learning from each individuals i must admit haha. But dogs are super smart like pigs too as some have disclosed. Presently,i have got to know some bump head narpolion fish and they impress me too,,,very family orientated and protective of their young ones like elephants. But don't fool around trigger fish, they bite yooo !!.. too bloody protective of their eggs. Sharks too gang up to hunt and are very cunning. very good hunters i must say from my observations.
,,,have had monkeys/hornbills too on the island before and they are pretty smart too.
,,,And in you case, am sure in your dealings with them, plants too are pretty fussy, the way they grow towards sunlight plus water supply and minerals for their roots yaa ??.
,,,by the way, nature's weather too have a life span, if you observe them carefully..they have birth and life plus endings hahaha. (pilot here speaking yoo !)
...am learning about waves too nowadays being an islander from many fisherman friends plus personal experience.
,,,Guess the learning process never ends, that's what makes living n life interesting for me.
Physiognomy equally apply to animals too as to human from my years of observations of the animal kingdom. Every face tells a story and i believe we can to a certain extent, assess the character via expressions and movements i.e body language can give a clue/message well in our interaction with people and animals ??.
,,,Eyes are the windows of the soul cos. they reveal so much !!. observe and learn haha !!.. and as a painter now, you are capturing it down on paper and paint. Enjoy it buddy yaa !.

ReplyDeleteOnce dead, the whale meat should not be wasted, you should freeze some and use it for bbq etc with your friends-lah.
Or if possible use it to feed the homeless and strays in town ?.
Food on the island is never wasted, we share with the beach boys the extras plus some that were cooked specially for them and boatmen on the island. Every nite, these boys will come to my kitchen and help themselves for free !.. but in return they will also greet me with the biggest smile in the world. Many of the beach boys have grown much healthy and secured jobs in the hotel industry properly nowadays..all they needed was some groomimg and a little help to feed them while looking for a career and a role in life-lah!!.

not like in Asia, kita tolak batu n kayu saja, semua boleh hehehe.
but when i was in the military ewere taught survival training and later as an instructor i had to demo eating live snakes etc to the trainees...bloody life style yaa...indeed i survived my tour of duty and came out alive even after an helicopter crash incident back in 1974...surviving in the jungle with my bare hands many a times yoooo !! what an experience i must admit now hahaha...good old days my friend fighting the CTs day in day out.
island living is partly survival living too especially during the monsoon !!...we have to catch our food plus eat whatever we can find on the island or rather in the jungle !
Will indeed, capture the coming monsoon lifestyle in my blog...just wait for it yaa!!

What happened to Marang Safari Resort? That was another Nirvana that I would love to be at. Hopefully the millions spent on that project didn't go to waste as that was a jewel to be polished and sold to the world to enjoy.

Capt's Longhouse is also part of my social work/contribution to rehabilitate delinquents/drug addicts and to help/assist the distressed and homeless. Been doing so for past 18 years buddy !. In this materialistic world, unfortunately some tend to think that being prosperous is more important than having a meaningful, purposeful life. in fact, wealth should not be the end, but the means to an end yaa!!.
I guess that your/one's altruism reaches a high plane when your care for others outweights your concern for yourself. hehe but tks god its not making me poorer. its a win/win situation-lah,,,island living improves me physically, mentally and spiritually.
me luv dogs too!! but had to settle for a kitty which i loved dearly..my cat passed on 2 years ago in december..sob sob still miss him until today. He always greeted me at the door until I came back home late, he never waited for me at the door anymore, instead just snuggled up in my bed waiting for me to join him;-)..anyway one fine day i will surely want to pat Jane of Kapas :-)woof!
