Hai there everyone !,,,,,,,,
This is the Captain speaking from Kapas Island and breaking the island news.
We just had a meeting yesterday chaired by Razali the UMNO Youth Chief from Marang, Kuala Terengganu with all the rept. from all Kapas island resort owners to organize the welcoming visit of our MB (Chief Minister) scheduled on 4th June'07 inorder to officially open the solar energy project that will provide power to the islander's individual resort.
Many other island issues were also raised by all the island rept. and hopefully will be catered for soon.
Key issue apparently is getting water supply from the main land, however there were many other interesting issues/problems raised such as security, coral protection, medical centre, search & rescue facilities and training on fire fighting against bush fires, hygiene or lack of it plus poor services of rubbish collector and many others.
The main concern raised and deliberated by Razali is apparently targeting the islander's mindset. This is really a case of not being too selfish or self centred but to co-orperate with each other on the island. Too many sad stories which are indeed too self-centered and being too personal in nature. Kind of all about me me me !!!!!,,only.
Slowly slowly catch the monkey strategy might eventually work out but getting things done collectively is still a big challenge and needing Razali's strong leadership skills to pull it through. It a good start and we hope to organise more of such dialogue sessions within the islanders and to produce value added results.
Well, the islanders & rept. will be at the jetty to welcome our MB on 4th June'07 plus to enjoy the free lunch sponsored by the Terengganu state government. We are indeed very greatful for the sola energy project and is awaiting for the power supply to replace our aging generator set.
Cheers all,,,,will catch up later.
